Going Away

I know this picture isn't the easiest to identify, but it is a bag of gifts. My husband and I are going overseas for 8 days and I have never left my kids that long. I am so anxious about it!!!!! So, I thought I would have a gift for my daughter to open everyday so she has something to look forward to. I hope this works:)

Fish Day

Our day was all about:

FISH

Breakfast: cheese toast

We did some fish drawings together

Our fish books

Field trip: we went to the pet store to look at some real fish

Coleman enjoyed the fish too!

Sorting fish into colors

Lunch: Sandwich shaped like a fish, cantaloupe cut like fish, goldfish, jello fishbowl

Holding up her own little fishbowl of jello with Sweedish fish swimming in it.

Art project: painted the ocean, glued on fish and then glued on this net that we captured the fish with.

Afternoon snack: Nemo fruit chews

Dinner (doesn't look that great in the pic, but tasted good): fish, more jello with fish in it and more cantaloupe shaped like fish.

Flower Power

It has been a long time since I have posted on here! I am hoping to get better about that. Life has been busy and now I might have a little time to do some fun things. Here is a flower shirt I made today. I love it. It looks a little high on the neck, but it really isn't. I found this http://katiedid.squarespace.com/katie-did-journal/2009/5/1/tutorial-flower-collar.html and just had to make my own version!

Tie-shirt

I have been wanting to make a tie shirt for my little man. I am not quite sure what I think about it. I was using some leftover fabric, so maybe it is the fabric I am not sure about. But, who doesn't love anything modeled by my little Colemanator!

chicks

Well, I have been slacking on my blog, but for good reason. I have been out of town. So, when I got back in town I found out that it was Chloe's turn to bring snacks to school. I wanted to do something Easterish, but couldn't think of anything. I saw on a blog to make some chicks. Mine are quite different and not nearly as cute. I would post a link, but can't remember where
I saw them. I just used candy melts to pipe out the figures and added the flowers for eyes. I put them in a muffin, b/c her school asks for healthy snacks. I thought they turned out okay, at least Chloe loved them.

Letter of the Week: S

LETTER OF THE WEEK: S

We have been working on the letter S this week. I thought we would make a snake, but Chloe was insistent on making a swan. She knew all on her own that Swan begins with a S!

Tracing our name

I have been trying to get Chloe to write her name. I thought maybe I would try this approach she did copy it once. I guess that is a good start! I put her name both upper and lower case on a piece of paper and then put wax paper on top. I let her use a sharpie (a rare moment) to trace on the wax paper. Luckily our clothing was sharpie free!
